FrontRow acts as the data controller in our relationship with you, whenever we store and use your data. We take our custodianship of your data seriously, and this Privacy Policy explains what information we may have, what we do with it (and why), how we protect it, and how to let us know your wishes about it.

How and why we use your data

FrontRow maintains and uses information about you only when:

  • we need to fulfill our contract with you — for example, to deliver the products you've ordered
  • ...or it's our legal duty to do so
  • ...or it's in our legitimate business interest — more on this below
  • ...or when you consent to it

Out of these, "legitimate interests" probably needs the most explanation. By "legitimate interests" we mean our interest in running FrontRow in a way that lets us give you the best products and the best experience interacting with our company.

For example, we are interested in making sure our marketing is relevant to you, so we may look at your information to make educated guesses about your interests so that we can send you content that is tailored to you.

We think our interests often overlap with yours as well. For example, we may process your information to protect you against fraud on our website, and to ensure our websites and systems are secure.

In deciding to process your personal information for FrontRow's legitimate interests, we have thought about whether there is any potential impact on you — either positive or negative — as well as your rights under data protection laws. About the kinds of data we keep and use

About cookies

The FrontRow website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small information units that the website places on the hard disk of your computer, your tablet, or your smartphone when you visit the site. These cookies help the website recognize your computer — it doesn't know about you, just your computer — out of the thousands that may be visiting the site at the same time. Where does this data come from?

Most of the time, any data we might have has been provided by you:

Who gets to see or use your data?

We don't sell, rent, or barter your data.We don't allow any person or company outside the William Demant Group to use your data except as required to fulfill our obligations to you, or as required by law, or to store and/or process it in order to run our business (see Where is your data?). Here are the categories of companies that may see all or part of your data:

  • Companies we rely on to fulfill our contractual obligation to you or your organization (e.g., resellers, shipping companies)
  • Services that help us solicit and display customer reviews
  • Services that help us manage our website or our relationship with you
  • Government revenue and customs agencies, regulators, and other authorities
  • Credit agencies
  • Companies you ask us to share your data with

In the future, it's possible that FrontRow Calypso LLC may choose to sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business, or our assets. Or we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. During any such process, we may share your data with other parties. We’ll only do this if they agree to keep your data safe and private. If a change to our organization happens, then other parties may use your data in the same way as set out in this notice.

Where is your data?

FrontRow keeps some types of data (particularly transactional and documentary data) in William Demant servers or physical files.

For other types of data, FrontRow may use external companies as the data processor in order to maintain the technical operation of the website, to organize important records about our relationship with you, or to support processes needed for sales, marketing, and other internal functions. The data processors act solely according to instructions from FrontRow.

FrontRow does not necessarily process and/or store personal data in the EU or in your country of residence now, nor is it guaranteed that it will do so in the future. Wherever it is stored, FrontRow uses commercially reasonable efforts to see that the data in its control is handled using appropriate security measures. The data processors FrontRow selects have established technical and organizational safety measures to help minimize the likelihood of your information being accidentally or illegally destroyed, lost or deteriorated, coming to the knowledge of unauthorized persons, or being misused or processed in violation of laws governing processing of personal data. Nevertheless, because the internet is not a 100% secure environment, FrontRow cannot ensure or warrant the security of information you transmit to FrontRow.

How long do we keep your data?

We generally keep your personal information indefinitely unless you direct us to delete it or we no longer need it for one of these reasons:

  • To respond to any questions or complaints
  • To show that we treated you fairly
  • To maintain records according to rules that apply to us
  • For marketing, research, or statistical purposes
  • For legal, regulatory or technical reasons

Automated decision-making and profiling

We sometimes use computer software to make decisions based on information we have about you or your organization. This helps us to do the following two things quickly, efficiently, and correctly:

Personalize communication for you

We have a lot different news, solutions, and ideas to offer and it could be easy to overwhelm you if we didn't narrow down the type and freqency of communication with you. Because that's a complicated task, we sometimes use computers to help. For example, computer tools can take into account content you've already seen, products you already own, requests you've made to us, your role in an organization, and other significant markers in order to make an educated guess about things you may be interested in and things you probably aren't interested in. That helps us be much better at designing products and services we think you'll like, building our relationship with you, and communicating only those things we think you'll find relevant.

Ensure that you've received help you've asked for

When you ask us for information through our website, a tradeshow, or other contact, we usually automate the process of routing your request to the right person. In addition, we often use computer software to automatically prompt a supervisor within FrontRow to double-check that you've been helped properly and promptly. This helps us be sure that our customer service is living up to our (and your) standards.

What if you choose not to give any personal information?

We may need to collect personal information by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you.

If you choose not to give us this personal information, it may delay or prevent us from meeting our obligations. It may also mean that we cannot perform services or deliver product you have ordered from us or from our resellers.

Any information that is optional would be made clear at the point of collection.

Your data & your rights

Wherever possible, FrontRow wants you to decide what data we have and how we use it, as well as how, whether, and about what we may contact you.

Depending upon where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your data by law. In any case, FrontRow aims to afford you the highest standard of flexibility and control over your data wherever possible. Among your options (although with certain restrictions), you may:

  • Give or withdraw your consent to use your data
  • Get a copy of the data you provided to us in a portable data format
  • Ask us to correct your data
  • Ask us to stop processing your data (including automated decision-making)
  • Ask us to erase your data

For example, although you may choose not to receive marketing information from FrontRow, you may still receive invoices, shipping notifications, and other important information such as changes to your existing products and services because we're contractually or legally obligated to deliver these to you.

We may ask you to confirm or update your choices if you purchase any new products or services, or ask for some new information from us. We will also ask you to do this if there are changes to regulations, or to the structure of our business.

If you change your mind you can update your choices at any time by contacting us.

How to change your contact preferences
(including withdrawing consent)

With certain limitations (e.g., invoicing), you can decide what kinds of communication you want to receive FrontRow. There are two ways to set your preferences:

  • Click the preferences link at the bottom of many email messages from FrontRow. This will take you to a page where you can tell us how and whether you would like us to communicate with you.
  • Send an email telling the FrontRow webmaster what changes you would like to make

Please remember that if you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain offers, products, or services to you (but you can always give your consent again at any time).

How to get a copy of your data

FrontRow is happy to provide you with a copy of all personal data you have given us (and for which we are the controller), provided that more than six months have lapsed since your previous request unless you can substantiate a special interest in obtaining the information earlier. Please note that the data we provide may be limited to that which you have provided directly to us. We will supply this data to you in standard comma-separated value (.csv) format (not necessarily in a single file) so that it's easy for you to transfer it to other systems. How to correct your data

If you discover that any of your information that FrontRow controls is incorrect or misleading, FrontRow will correct it upon your written request to the FrontRow webmaster. If possible, we recommend that you make the correction of such errors yourself (for example, by updating it in a form on the website).

How to delete your data

Upon your written request to the FrontRow webmaster, FrontRow will stop processing and delete any of your personal information for which it is the data controller, with the exception of any data required to meet our contractual or legal obligations, to prevent you from being accidentally re-marketed to, or to allow us to collect on liabilities you may have incurred with us.

Please note that stopping processing of and deleting your data will prevent us from providing certain offers, products, or services to you.

How to complain

If you think we're not storing or using your data in a way that's proper or lawful, please contact our webmaster so that we can address your concerns. You may also complain to supervisory authorities in your country of residence.
